A technology and services partner to hundreds of colleges and universities across the nation.
We understand the challenges of engaging and educating aspiring students from the ‘millennial’ generation to the non-traditional. We enable admissions and financial aid departments to achieve their enrollment goals by intelligently communicating to individual students in ways that engage them, and by providing the institution with powerful analytics and insight to drive results.
We call this ‘engaged intelligence’.
Cegment launched in 2008 as Student Aid Services, with innovative technology that helped financial aid offices communicate the individual cost and affordability of their institution’s degrees. Over time, our services have broadened to address the needs of higher education enrollment offices across the nation and in 2014 the company was restructured to better serve our 300+ clients. Cegment is now an independent company with headquarters in Boston, MA. Through a suite of technology and service offerings that combine to create customized solutions, we help our institutional clients connect individually with each student to convey their value and affordability, improve financial literacy and encourage students to persist to graduation.

“As the enrollment landscape grows increasingly challenging, our team sought out new initiatives to help us communicate the value and affordability of a University of Delaware education to prospective students. We wanted students and their families to consider more than cost as they made their final decision, and our award notification presented this opportunity. The Student Aid Services award letter platform enabled us to transform our transactional presentation of the financial aid award into a communication tool that includes a more user-friendly layout of the financials alongside information to help students get excited about what awaits them at UD […]”
“As we completed enrollment for the fall 2013 freshman class, we were shy of our goal. In preparation for the recruitment of the fall 2014 class, we knew we needed to evaluate our overall enrollment strategy. To that end, we focused our efforts on improving the yield of accepted students without increasing our discount budget. The Personalized Financial Aid Award Letter, produced in partnership with Cegment, was one of the significant changes we implemented this past year. We are pleased to report that we experienced a 3% increase in yield year over year – resulting in a 15 percent increase in enrollment deposits, while our discount rate was held constant. This is an exciting result.”
